NON-INVASIVE BIOMARKERS OF LIVER FIBROSIS: UNIVERSALITY AND AVAILABILITY

Abstract
Purpose: to determine the correlation of the level of viremia, liver density values according to the ultrasound scan (ultrasound elastography) on the process of liver fibrosis, taking into account the indicators of cytolysis syndrome, inclusive, using modern scales and indices in the interpretation of fibrosis indicators.
Materials and methods: 75 patients with chronic hepatitis C were examined. All patients underwent laboratory examination, which included standard general clinical parameters and assessment of biochemical parameters (ALT, AST, bilirubin fractions, total protein and albumin, glucose, thrombocytes). To assess the severity of fibrosis, ultrasound elastography (USE) of the liver was used using a Fibroscan 502 apparatus (Echosens, France) with a rating on the METAVIR scale. In addition, simple indices available in clinical practice were determined: the FIB-4 index (AST, ALT, Tr, age), as well as the APRI index (AST / Tr ratio).
Results:With an increase in patients with liver fibrosis with CHC, the level of Thrombocytes (Tr), albumin in the peripheral blood decreases, the level of ALT, AST increases. FIB-4, APRI indices significantly differ in patients with minimal (F0-F1) and severe (F2-F4) (p <0,0001) fibrosis. The greatest prognostic value are FIB-4 indices.
Conclusion:The determination of fibrosis predictors in patients with chronic hepatitis C is easily feasible at any stage of medical care, is quite informative and can be used to select patients for the purpose of further examination and timely treatment.
