Reactive Routing System for Data Aware Networking

Abstract
Named Data Objects are the unit of data transfer in Data Aware Networking [10]
. The major functional
units of DAN are NDO Publishers, NDO Clients and Dan Agents. NDO publisher publish Data Objects of
authors as NDOs. Such published NDOs objects will be distributed to the NDO clients as and when required.
Compare to conventional way of routing, DAN routing is basically from DAN Agents to DAN Agents. DAN
Agents not only act as NDO routers, but also storage and forward servers. DAN is upper layer on TC/IP
framework based conventional networking.
One can assume two ways of designing of data object routing in data aware networking. One design is
virtualization of conventional physical networks another is up gradation functions of conventional routers to
support both routing and network working functionalities. These data aware and information centric systems are
key players in the digital era [1]
.Data items are main entities in DAN system. Maintenance and dissemination of
data items in DAN is a critical issue [5]
.
One need integrate routing and networking management functionalities into one unit. One can also
realize DAN Agents as servers with integrated routing and networking management functionalities into one unit.
The International Telecommunication Union identified some of these issues and proposed the concept of Future
Networks [6][8] to handle huge amount of data and its routing management. Later ITU also released its
recommendation to have Data Aware Networking (DAN) with data object as primary data unit [2][3]
.This paper
addresses routing system in DAN with integration of conventional network routing systems with Software
Defined Networking (SDN) technologies.
