performance of first year students in the School of Business Administration (SBA). The sample and population
of the study comprises the 249 students studying in the SBA as of the Academic Year 2018-2019. Stepwise
Regression Analysis has been employed as the method of estimation on the data collected as of May 8, 2019.
The researchers of this study extracted the records of the students studying inthe SBA at AlDar University
College and focused on their available demographic data and their CGPS at the end of their first year in the
SBA. Specifically, the researchers were able to identify and examine seven (7) variables that could influence
the academic performance of the students, in particular gender, age, marital status, home emirate, major, high
school stream, and high school score. The findings show gender, age, and grade 12 stream were the most
