PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF THE DEVELOPED ICI CANCELLATION ALGORITHM FOR VARIOUS QAM TECHNIQUES IN FBMCS WITH PAPR & TURBO ICI CANCELLATION SCHEMES WITH SELECTIVE CHANNELS

Abstract
In this research paper, the main objective, i.e., the design and development of an efficient ICI cancellation
algorithm for various QAM techniques in the FBMC’s is presented with the theoretical background to start with, finally
ending up with the presentation of the simulation results & the overall conclusive remarks at the end of the paper. The
mathematical modelling of the entire processes is also presented in this paper along with the system models for different
orders of QAM & these QAM mathematical models are used in the development of the code. We investigate a newly
proposed waveform for QAM-FBMC, where QAM modulation can be enabled by using multiple prototype filters for
different subcarriers using different QAM orders (say, 4, 16 & 64) in this paper. Main challenges and requirements for
5G are identified and waveform candidates are compared with each other. Initial analysis and evaluations are made to the
new waveform in a variety of perspectives, like, SNR (dB) v/s BER for FBMC Auxiliary QAM Signal Constellation
order 4, 16 and 64, FBMC Auxiliary Time Index v/s Frequency Index, Time v/s Transmitted Power for FBMC Auxiliary
QAM Signal Constellation order 4, 16 and 64 and FBMC Auxiliary Frequency (Hz) v/s Power Spectral Density (dB) for
QAM Signal Constellation order 4, 16 and 64. The behavioural process of how the wireless communication system
behaves for different types of QAM orders are presented in this paper. Algorithms are developed in the Matlab
environment & the simulated results are presented in the end along with the justifications. Quantitative results are also
presented for comparision purposes. At the end, one method of ICI reduction using PAPR is also presented with some
improvisations along with the quantitative results with its graphical displays. The performance analysis is carried out for
different orders of QAM modulator orders with the change in the number or NR iterations and are compared for the best
overall performance of the wireless communication system’s performance. Another exercise on the turbo ICI
cancellation scheme for FBMC-OQAM using dual selected channels is presented in this paper after the PAPR
approaches which utilizes the soft decision symbols obtained at the previous iterations to estimate the ICI coefficients &
suppress them from the received signals at the next iterations. The simulation results shows the effectivity of the
methodology that is being proposed by us.
