ENHANCE DESIGN THERMOELECTRIC BASED ON PARABOLA REFLECTORS

Abstract
The non-renewable petroleum energy crisis. One solution to overcome this by finding new innovations as
alternative energy sources. One potential energy source with new innovations is the use of thermoelectric
generators. Thermoelectric can convert heat energy directly into electrical energy. Thermoelectric can convert
electrical energy into a heat pump / refrigeration process. The design tested works seebeck concept describing
two metal materials or usually semi-conductors that are connected in an environment with two different
temperatures, then the material will flow electric current or electromotive force. The heater or cooler in the
design can be adjusted by adjusting the direction of the current, very concise, noiseless, no need for special
maintenance, no need for refrigerant or Freon, no vibration. Thermoelectric still has shortcomings that is still low
performance. Utilization of a focus point in a parabola is a reflection area that will be reflected to meet in a
meeting point to get light from the reflector. Testing of thermoelectric devices using a parabolic reflector is
carried out for 1 week, measurement data obtained minimal and maximum results of voltage and current based
on the influence of weather factors namely heat temperature of 590C and cold temperature of 350C on Monday
2.025 V and 0.64 A, heat temperature 1080C and temperature cold 380C on Friday 11.7 V and 1.56 A. In a
design that uses solar energy as a heating of the upper side of the peltier and water as cooling the bottom side of
the peltier, the greater the temperature gradient about the peltier side, the greater the energy produced by peltier.
In thermoelectric testing using a parabolic reflector that the weather greatly influences the measurement results
