Abstract
Male Infertility is a common and leading severe health problem in India as well as in the world among married couples due to the vigorous change in once life style, dietary habits, radiation, intoxication, environmental pollution and living stressful life. Infertility not only affects one’s ability to have children, but also has emotional, psychological, family, and societal effects. According WHO the Infertility defines as a disease of the reproductive system and describes it as the failure to achieve a clinical pregnancy after 12 months or more of regular unprotected sexual intercourse. Genetic involvement is one of the determining factors in the pathogenicity of any disease. The recent progress in the fields of genetics is highly significant and time tested to come back from this problem and offers many new tools for the better understanding of the Genetics of male infertility. Genomic breakthroughs give us a better understanding of structural components of DNA, new types of genetic polymorphisms, regulation of gene expression, and the identity of genes involved in male infertility. The great Ayurvedic Acharya Charak has clearly describe the outline of gene, DNA and chromosome and disease caused due to its mutation I his commentary Charak Samhita in ancient scientific language Sanskrit. The prevalence of the male infertility is increasing in the world as well as in India day by day. WHO estimated that out of 60-80 million of the married couple only 8-12 % of couples suffers from Infertility. In India percentage varies from 3.9-16.8%. The present work focuses on the collaboration between ancient and recent genetic concepts and also decodes the Ayurvedic deep principles which are not highlighted in reference to genetics.
