VEHICLE TRACKING SYSTEM USING GPS

Abstract
Nowadays tracking of vehicles is a big challenge in logistics industries. With increased road traffic, fuel cost and labor
charges, the logistics companies are in very much need of a smart solution to track the vehicles and sustain in the competitive
market. The proposed framework made great utilization of a mainstream innovation that joins a Smartphone application with
a microcontroller. The planned in-vehicle gadget works utilizing Global Positioning System (GPS) and Global framework for
versatile correspondence/General Packet Radio Service (GSM/GPRS). The gadget is installed inside a vehicle whose position
is to be resolved and followed progressively. A microcontroller is utilized to control the GPS and GSM/GPRS modules. The
vehicle following framework utilizes the GPS module to get geographic directions at standard time interims. The
GSM/GPRS module is utilized to transmit and refresh the vehicle area to a database. A Smartphone application is moreover
produced for persistently observing the vehicle area. The Google Maps API is utilized to show the vehicle on the guide in the
Smartphone application. Along these lines, clients will have the option to ceaselessly screen a moving vehicle on request
utilizing the Smartphone application and decide the evaluated separation and time for the vehicle to land at a given goal. So
as to show the plausibility and viability of the framework, this paper presents test consequences of the vehicle following
framework and a few encounters on handy usage
