GENDER INEQUALITY; A REVIEW OF EDUCATION STATUS OF BTR, ASSAM AND INDIA

Abstract
Education is means the process of acquiring particular knowledge or skill in our daily life. So education is the
backbone of a society or a region which can signifies our livelihood strategy. Gender inequality in education is a
serious problem in Bodoland Territorial Region. The study area is taken from Bodoland Territorial Region. There is
an inequality in terms of education achievement between male and female in the region. The objective of this paper
is to highlight factor causing for gender inequality of educational status of Bodoland Territorial Region of Assam.
The data are collected from the secondary sources and descriptive and analytic method has been applied to compare
with state and national level. Here some statistical method has applied to show the educational gap. These
educational gaps have been becoming serious impact on socio-economic developmental aspects in the region. The
paper is mainly taken into account of status of educational achievement between male and female, factor causing
inequality of educational attainment and impacts of educational inequality in socio-economic development aspects.
