INFLUENCING FACTORS IN CHOOSING OF IRAQI CONSUMER TO LOCAL AND IMPORTED READY FOOD PRODUCTS

Abstract
The study was conducted for a random sample of consumers who are usually purchasing ready food products from food stores in the city of Baghdad, the number of collected sample are 300 persons from consumers who are buying different kinds of ready food products (refrigerated and frozen), whether they are local or imported. Influencing factors in choosing of Iraqi consumer of these products were studied through the analysis of the fourth elements of marketing mixture (4PS): quality products, price, place (distribution) and promotion. A questionnaire was adopted as a research tool included twenty questions addressed to the respondent divided to: nine questions for quality product, three questions for both of price and distribution and five questions for promotion. Statistical methods: arithmetic mean and percentage weight were used to analyze obtained results. The results demonstrated the preference of the Iraqi consumer to buy imported ready food products than local ready foods with a majority in accordance to all the elements of 4PS.
