Abstract
The article presents the biological and ecological features of aboriginal woody plants, their adaptability to anthropogenic desertification in the south of the Aral Sea region. The growth, development and durability of woody plants in Karakalpakstan were studied and the longevity of woody plants was determined depending on environmental factors. It was revealed that the nature of shoot growth in woody plants, its intensity and duration is largely determined by the systematic affiliation of the species.

Key words: growth, development, durability, woody, acclimatization, climatic factors, introduction, aboriginal, South Aral.
