IMPACT OF VARIOUS FLOW PARAMETERS ON THE FLOW PAST A SEMI INFINITE VERTICAL PLATE WITH VISCOUS DISSIPATION

Abstract
An incompressible fluid flow over vertical porous plate has been examined in this paper. The effect of gravitational pull and thermal radiation is taken into account. In the course of analysis, the effects of viscous dissipation, thermal radiation and concentration buoyancy are considered. It is noticed that, the porosity and velocity are inversely proportional. This is due to the fact that as the pore size increases the fluid percolates through the boundary as a result of which the velocity decreases. Further, as the porosity raises, the friction on the bounding surface decreases. Such a result is in agreement with the natural phenomenon. In addition to the above, the time factor plays an important role. When the time period is held constant, the magnetic flux and skin friction on the bounding surface are inversely related to each other. This is due to the fact that the magnetic intensity opposes the fluid motion and hence the friction on the bounding surface reduces. Also, for constant value of magnetic intensity, as t enhances, therate of flowdecreases. More over as the porosity raises, also the flow rate decreases.
