Abstract
ABSTRACT
Watching cartoons and animated shows is a favourite pastime of kids. Family members used to teach children
moral and social values in the past, a role that is rightfully played by television in the present time. Through
popular culture such as cartoons, socio-cultural values can easily be nurtured in the minds of children today.
Cartoons are not just entertainment sources rather they teach and sometimes feed morally loaded messages as
well. It has therefore become an interesting and challenging area in the field of academic research to study the
content of television programs. Cartoons can also serve as early Neuro Linguistic Programming or NLP anchors
of self-resilient avatars; also, creating deeply embedded subconscious heroic identity and pave peer motivation
for curbing the evil, adventuring and fighting against the vicious. NLP(Neuro Linguistic Programming)is all
about understanding the strengths and weaknesses and using certain tools and techniques to bring desired
changes in self and others. This paper has attempted the application of specific NLP techniques such as circle of
excellence, anchors and strategies taking the help of popular cartoon series“ Chhota Bheem” and“Roll No. 21”
as a symbolic myth which is very apt for children aged 4 to 11years.The studyshall also entail the pedagogic
aspects of enabling NLP anchors into classrooms and instrumentalize the efficacy of model learning.
