BER Analysis of NR-LDPC Decoding Algorithms for Next Generation Wireless Communications

Abstract
The main objective of this paper is Bit Error Rate (BER) analysis of different NR-LDPC decoding algorithms, Log-Likelihood Ratio (LLR), Simplified Log-Likelihood Ratio (SLLR-Proposed1), Layered Iterative MinSum (LIMS), Combination of SLLR and LIMS (Proposed2) for next generation wireless communication systems such as Wi-MAX (802.16e),10GBaseT (802.3an), DVB-S2, WLAN (802.11.n). From the analysis of the simulation results LLR based NR-LDPC decoding algorithm outperforms compared with the other decoding techniques. The proposed methods SLLR and Combination of SLLR and LIMS decoding techniques improve BER performance in terms of different number of iterations (5,15,30), SNR values(1-12dB), Parity check matrix(H=NR_1_0_2, NR_1_0_32, NR_1_0_64,)and expansion factors(Z=2,32,64).
