CLINICAL AND NEUROPHYSIOLOGICAL FEATURES OF SYRINGOMYELIA IN PATIENTS WITH CHIARI MALFORMATION TYPE 1

Abstract
The paper presents the results of a clinical examination of 68 patients with Chiari malformation type 1 in combination with syringomyelia. The detailed analysis of the subjective and objective neurological symptoms with abnormalities Chiari type 1 in combination with syringomyelia is performed, depending on the localization of syringomyelia cavity in the cervical, thoracic spinal cord and of mixed localization by MRI. –†redominant neurological syndromes - cerebellar, bulbar, pyramidal and syringomyelia are selected. The criteria of the level of functional disorders are identified according to the data of evoked potentials(ASEP, SSEP, ENMG) with syringomyelia in combination with Chiari malformation type 1. Surgical tactics, depending on the dominant clinical syndrome are defined.
