Dr. BADRE ALAM.

Abstract
Islamic literature is literature written by Muslim people, influenced by an Islamic cultural perspective, or literature that
portrays Islam. It can be written in any language and portray any country or region. It includes many literary forms
including adabs, a non-fiction form of Islamic advice literature,[1] and various fictional literary genres The attribution of
literature to Islam, and the use of the term "Islamic literature" for the first time, we find among the famous German
orientalist Karl Brockelmann. This orientalist wrote a series on the history of Arabic literature consisting of six parts, in
which he dealt with the literature and knowledge of the Arabic language from the pre-Islamic era to the modern era,
and he personally produced the first edition of this book from Weimar, Germany, in 1898 AD. We also find another
Italian Orientalist Levi Delaveda, who added literature to Islam in his book which he published in 1932 CE and was
named "Islamic Arabic Literature". Now this Article focuses on the background of Islamic literature and its history and
reality.

Key words: Islamic literature, adab, non-fiction, Orientalist, history and reality
