JONATHAN LORD R. AQUINO.

Abstract
THE KEY PURPOSE OF THIS RESEARCH WAS TO DEVELOP AND EVALUATE A MODULE IN ORGANIC CHEMISTRY TO DETERMINE THE validity and acceptability of the proposed module for the Third Year Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) major in Physical Science of the College of Education of Isabela State University Cauayan Campus, Cauayan City, IsabelaThe objectives of the study were to determine: 1. the profile of the students in terms of age and sex; 2. the profile of the faculty in terms of teaching load and years of teaching; 3. the evaluation of student respondents on the proposed module in Organic Chemistry in terms of the following criteria, a. objectives, b. content, c. usefulness, d. clarity, e. suitability and adequacy and 4. the results of the evaluations of the science teachers, how valid and reliable is the proposed module for Organic Chemistry in terms of the following criteria, a. objectives, b. content, c. usefulness, d. clarity, e. suitability and adequacy. The descriptive - evaluative survey was also used for the respondents who availed of the proposed module to find out or evaluate its validity through the given criteria using the proposed module for Organic Chemistry. The results of the evaluation of both groups show that: 1. the objectives of the proposed module are strongly agree in teaching Organic Chemistry, 2. the contents are properly planned, arrange in proper sequence, based on the subject matter, and based in the course outline with the description strongly agree, 3. the degree of usefulness of the proposed module in Organic Chemistry is descriptively rated as strongly agree, 4. the clarity of the activities and topics in the proposed module are clear, descriptive, and concise to facilitate understanding and retention of information and it is rated as strongly agree, 5. the suitability of the proposed module in Organic Chemistry is very suitable for the third year students is strongly agree as describe in the interpretation table and the adequacy of the proposed module used by the students during activity have a very adequate exercises for the topics is strongly agree as describe in the interpretation. It could be deduced from the data that the proposed module in Organic Chemistry is acceptable and valid to students and teachers. Conclusions drawn from the study were: 1. the proposed module is valid and acceptable in teaching-learning process in third year BSEd students, 2. the proposed module is useful in teaching Organic Chemistry, and 3. the proposed module helps in guiding the students properly in the absence of a teacher.
