Effectiveness Of Plan Teaching Program On National Immunization Programme Among Mothers Under Five Children’s Attending Immunization Of Tertiary Care Hospital From Western Maharashtra

Abstract
Immunization saves life, It safe for children, family, and community. Immunization help keep
succeeding generations by eradicate diseases. Many communicable diseases eradicated but new communicable
diseases are appearing in the world.
Objectives: Assess the knowledge of immunization among mothers of under five children. To find out an
association between knowledge and selected demographic variables of mothers on National Immunization
programe, To evaluate the effectiveness of plan teaching program on level of knowledge regarding Immunization
programmes among mothers of under five children.
Material & Methods: Evaluative research approach was used. Research design- Quasi experimental (one group pre
& post test design). Study conducted on 50 subjects from under five children mothers attending immunization
clinic in Krishna Hospital, Karad. Using Non Probability Convenient sampling technique .The data collected using
pre-test self administered questionnaire. Frequency distribution analysis was performed.
Result: Among 50 mothers Maximum number 48 % of mothers belonged to the age of 19-25 year. 46 %mothers
were educated up to Secondary School, Majority of samples 90 % were from Hindu religion. 66%mothers were
from urban community. 62%mothers were housewives,54% mothers taking mixed diet. 64% mothers were from
nuclear family. In the pre test 66%mothers having average knowledge and in the post 100% mothers had good
knowledge. The pre-test mean 16.1, post test mean is 25.54.and t value is 19.32. After administration of
educational programme , pretest and post test data analysis revealed that post-test score was higher than pre -test
score.
