HEART DISEASE PREDICTION USING MACHINE LEARNING TECHNIQUES

Abstract
Heart related diseases or Cardiovascular Diseases (CVDs) are treated as one of the most life-threatening diseases
and they continue to claim more and more lives as years pass by. So, there is a great need for reliable, accurate
system to diagnose such diseases in time for proper treatment. Machine learning(ML) have proven to be
successful in predicting diseases, improving the quality of healthcare and are also used in various personalized
healthcare systems. Also, machine learning techniques have been applied to various medical datasets to automate
the analysis of large and complex data since a long time and they have proven to be reliable and helpful. This
paper presents a model which predicts the heart diseases with the help of inputs from person such as age, gender,
blood pressure, cholesterol etc. It acts as a decision support system for doctors and physicians for predicting the
chance of occurrence of coronary artery diseases in a person.
