Maria Manda Puspita, Fitria Siswi Utami.

Abstract
The rapid development of midwife education in Indonesia is apparently still not balanced with the
target of reducing the MMR and IMR recommended by WHO. Therefore it is very important to further
develop midwife competencies. The purpose of this article was to determine the competence of midwife
students in midwifery practice education. Method: Scoping review was carried out using a five-step method
adopted from the Arksey method. From the selection process, 6 articles with grades A and B. were obtained.
The themes of the six articles were factors that influence the competence of midwifery students, such as age,
sex, adequacy of study / clinical practice experience, availability of laboratory resources and teacher or
lecturer resources, online learning and regulation of professional policies and educational standards that can
potentially improve midwifery education. Scoping review showed several factors that influence the
competence of midwifery students, namely age, adequacy of study or clinical experience, availability of
laboratory and teacher or lecturer resources, online learning, professional policy regulation and educational
standards.

Key words: Education, Midwifery Practices, Competence.
