MAINTAINING SWIMMING POOL WATER QUALITY BY CONTROLLING AND MEASURING PH LEVELS AND TURBIDITY LEVELS

Abstract
Swimming pools have the potential to cause health problems if the water quality is not properly
maintained, one of which is by maintaining the pH and turbidity level of the pool water. The pH level and the
turbidity level of swimming pool water can make important parameters as a determinant of the pool water quality.
The pH level is called neutral if the pH value of the water is 7 - 7.8. If the pH value <7 contains acid and pH> 7.8
contains alkaline, while the turbidity level can be a variable to describe the quality of the swimming pool water.
Therefore a system to control the pH level and turbidity level of swimming pool water is designed where this system
aims to produce a neutral and clear pH level and turbidity level of swimming pool water which is able to measure
and neutralize water pH levels by utilizing a pH sensor and able to circulate pool water to keep it clear by utilizing a
turbidity sensor using a microcontroller as a center for processing all sensor data. Testing is done with a swimming
pool prototype and measurements are carried out in real time and continuously. The test results show that this tool is
able to neutralize the pH of swimming pool water and maintain the turbidity level of swimming pool water by
integrating a pH sensor and a turbidity sensor so that it is effective and efficient in doing its work as a control of pH
levels and turbidity levels of swimming pool water in maintaining the quality of the swimming pool water
