REVIEW ON LUNG CANCER DISCOVERY TECHNIQUES AND CLASSIFICATION OF KNOBS USING CONVOLUTIONAL NEURAL NETWORK APPROACH

Abstract
Due to the development of social networking, satellite image and surveillance cameras, the
amount of image data has grown. This gigantic volume of information has created a new field in data
processing. Medical image investigation and processing encompasses an incredible significance in field of
medication. One such field is diagnosis of lung cancer. Diagnosis of lung cancer at early organize will decrease
the death rate. Due to a exponential increase in number of CT scan images, a fast and accurate diagnosis was
challenge for radiologists. Therefore, the demand for Computer Aid Diagnosis (CAD) for Lung Cancer was
increasing. Recently, many methods based on deep learning with convolutional neural network (CNN) have
been created. In this paper, we explored such methods and their performances. First, we briefly introduced CNN
and its architecture in medical imaging. Then brief description of different datasets of lung cancer CT images.
Also a short journey of various techniques to detect and classify lung knobs using CNN through different
datasets of lung cancer CT pictures. Finally comparative study of these methods and proposes the new
architecture.
