INTEGRATION OF ICT IN LANGUAGE CLASSROOM – CLASSROOM EXPERIMENTS IN TEACHING AND LEARNING

Abstract
Technology has become a part and parcel of an individualβ€Ÿs life. The rapid changes in technology are bringing in a paradigm shift in every single field worldwide, education being no exception. Academicians have to juggle around with and reconsider appropriate pedagogical approaches tailored to the current generation learners. The learning needs of the millennial are routing the shift from teacher-centered approach to learner-centered approach to accomplish the competencies required for the 21st century learner. Integration of Information Communication Technology (ICT) platforms and tools into the classroom is one of the effective ways to outfit the 21st century learner and bring in experiential learning, active learning and evidence based learning. This paper is an attempt to share some of the ICT platforms and tools, their academic applications as used specifically in language class; and the impact and challenges were recorded.
