STRUCTURAL EQUATION MODELLING APPROACH FOR MODEL DEVELOPMENT OF EMPLOYEE RETENTION IN ITES SECTOR

Abstract
In India, there are growing numbers of ITeS companies from day to day, with which the demand
for highly competent workers is also rising, still we can see a lot of discontent among ITeS companiesí
employees in India, which tends to cause an increasing rate of employee turnover. ITeS Sector employees can
be retained for a longer period by getting them motivated with monetary and non - monetary rewards. This
paper has tried to identify and analyse factors that have an effect on the practice of retention in ITeS sector.
Views from 287 respondents were gathered from selected ITeS companies of Delhi NCR, using structure
structured questionnaires given to the employees. The major factors impacting employee retention were found
as basic requirements, workplace culture, career development opportunities and job satisfaction. Structural
Equation Modelling (SEM) done by AMOS Software has been used here to analyse the effect of each of these
variables on employee retention. The analysis reveals that the variables found in the study significantly influence
the retention of the employee.
