STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS OF POLYMER TENSILE TEST SPECIMEN.

Abstract
The present work deals with determining the approximate values of designing parameters such as
stress, strain and displacement of CPNC based piezoresistive strain sensor. Structural analysis was conducted
by modelling the tensile test specimen using ANSYS software keeping the dimensions the same as used during
the experiment (ASTM D638). The modelling has been done using the structural analysis tool available in Finite
Element Meshing (FEM). The obtained values were in an allowable range which is very much helpful in
understating and predicting the behaviour of the nanocomposite materials for the strain sensing applications.
Therefore, theoretical modelling technique can be considered useful for CPNC membrane for predicting failure
and safe working conditions.
