AN ENSEMBLE FEATURE RANKING BASED CLASSIFICATION FRAMEWORK FOR HIGH DIMENSIONAL DATASETS

Abstract
High dimensionality and feature subset selection are the essential factors that affect the efficiency of
classification problems. Traditional feature subset models use fixed sized dimensions for feature ranking and classification
process. Sparsity, missing values and imbalance are the major issues that affect the selection of essential features for data
classification process. Traditional feature selection models such as ABC, PSO and GA are used to select the highly weighted
features for data classification. But these models require high computational memory and time for data classification. In this
paper, a hybrid ensemble feature selection using improved particle swarm optimization (IPSO) , hybrid principal component
analysis(HPCA) and information gain(IG) are used to select the essential features using majority voting method. Selected
ensemble ranked features are used to classify the cancer disease with high true positive rate and accuracy. In this model, a
new decision tree measure is developed in order to improve the tree pruning and classification efficiency. Experimental
results are simulated on different micro-array datasets with different feature subsets. The efficiency of the proposed
classification model is better than the traditional feature ranking based classification models.
