Welding of Dissimilar Metals by Laser Welding

Abstract
In today’s modern world, there is need of manufacturing the product using the different material and alloy, this approach actually increases the flexibility in design and production. The different properties of the material like heat absorption, corrosion resistance, strength, wear can be optimized and make them suitable for the according to the product. A product can be manufactured by using different material according to the use of the different part of the material. There are several methods available to accomplish this task. One of the important methods is also the laser welding to weld the dissimilar metal with great efficiency. But still there is a challenging task in term of dissimilar metal’s chemical as well as physical properties. A solution is offered for many issues associated with techniques joined traditionally that is Laser welding method having density of larger energy and least input energy. Main characteristics are accurate weld bead placement, fast cooling/heating; process efficiency, low distortion, & opportunities of product redesign. The analysis outlines the underlying principles of dissimilar combinations’ laser welding of the metals and demonstrates advantages within practical applications’ variety.
