There have always existed different views about the morality of the practice. The introduction lays down the various definitions of Euthanasia and the genesis of the act. The paper afterwards discusses the case studies related to the practice in the Indian judiciary like Aruna Ramchandra Shanbaug v Union of India and Gian Kaur v State of Punjab. The paper before concluding with the aspect of legalization of the practice discusses the Indian context as to the act through the eyes of the Constitution of the country and through the general legal framework.
