Special Provisions for Women under the Constitution of India

Abstract
Women in the context of available capital and rely for life on men. Women who work are often only homegrown, they have to do work that is not recognized and uncompensated in all households. Law cannot change accordingly, but it definitely can go above pure validity and taunt women against the inequities caused by bio-social influences. Indian judges were particularly interested in issues relating to women and children. This research paper, titled ‘Special Provisions for Women under the Constitution of India talks about the rights of women enshrined in the apex set of laws of the country. This clarifies the protection provided by Article 14 and 16 of the indian penal code for women under basic rights. In addition, there was also a discussion of security offered in the Directive State Principles and the updates 73 and 74. The paper also discusses some of the judicial decisions of the Supreme Court and the High Courts in safeguard of these rights and concludes with talking about the need of proper education and awareness within the society so that proper implementation of these rights can take place.
