Review on Optical MEMS or MoEMS Devices

Abstract
Optical networks consist of optical components in optical communication technology. And there is a great deal of the market demand for innovation and cost reduction in optical components. The typical types of optical components include: (i) active ingredients such as lasers, detectors, modulators or transceivers; (ii) liquids, including filters, couplers, splitters, insulation products, etc. This categorization has recently been amended so that a new class of Optical Components known as Dynamic Component has been introduced. Dynamic elements are essentially passive, but have the additional ability to alter or reconfigure the optical path in real time to adjust a specific light parameter. The Variable optical attenuator (VOA), tunable filter, 1 x N switch, Wavelength Selective (WSS), MEMS Scanning Mirror, dynamic dispersion compensation, etc. are all in this class of components. Optical MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) devices are the preferred technology to require Dynamic Components. MEMS 'central principle is to create micro-mechanical devices using wafer-processing technologies for semiconductors, which were used for the production of integrated circuits. In this paper, overview some of the Micro-Opto-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MoEMS) commercial products and their success stories.
