Electricity Generation through Wind Turbine of Shrouded Type

Abstract
The highly efficient electricity generation in low cost form green power source is directed us to the renewable energy sources. The best suitable power generation sources for the future are renewable energy source. In renewable energy sources wind energy source are the free energy source which is available in day or night. For electricity generation horizontal axis wind turbines are generally used, all the wind turbine can only be operated at the optimum speed. In this paper an experimental study has been conducted in which bucket shaped (Shrouded) wind turbine is used. This paper also shows that according to Bernoulliís theorem wind speed increase inside the duct and thus efficiency of the system also increases. The experiment setup consists of diffuser shroud (nozzle), at the exit of the boundary a broad-ring brim and wind turbine inside the shroud. In this paper its observed that the power generation factor is increased by 2-3 compared to conventional turbine of same specifications. This technology can fulfill the electricity demand at low cost and can be proved as an efficient renewable energy source.
