REAL TIME MONITORING OF CROPS USING RASPBERRY PI AND DETECTING PLANT LEAF DISEASES

Abstract
In todayís era agriculture is the main important sector for the farmers, and also it is the back bone of the Indian
market. Because of the gradually increasing population leads to the more demand for the food and productivity. There are
lot of smart existing and emerging technologies are done for the irrigation and plant/crop productivity purposes. The
existing technologies are like using the Bluetooth, ZigBee, and GSM/GPRS devices are used for irrigation the crops and
plants, and it is also important to detect the different types of disease that are occurring for the plant leaves. By detecting
the different types of diseases in earlier stage farmers can improve their crop productivity and also getting best price in
the market. This paper describes the real time monitoring the crops using raspberry pi, just because of using raspberry pi
it can be integrated with camera module so that it can predict the different types of plant leaves which are effected with
the diseases and send the disease information to the user in the form of SMS and if the user donít know the disease
information, the disease effected leaf is sends to the email in the form of attachment. These type of systems are more
helpful for the farmers for irrigation purpose and early stage detection of different types of diseases will leads to the
increase of productivity and quality. Farmers will get better value for their crop in the market.
