FEATURES EXTRACTION OF EEG SIGNALS

Abstract
Different types of the methods are available to assess the brain activity. But EEG is the useful and low cost
method to measure the activities of the brain. EEG Signal processing is one of the major research area to measure the
electrical movement on the human brain. Many researchers are doing their research in this particular filed. Epilepsy
identification is one of the major areas in EEG processing. Epilepsy means brain disorder, but it cannot easily identify in the
earlier stage. Brain signals are represented in the terms of amplitude value, frequency value and phase. The brain consists of
large number of neurons. These neurons are making a communication via electrical signal and create bio-electromagnetic
signals. These signals are spread through tissues on the brain. The brain activities are monitored by detectors that is placed
the scalp. In this current scenario image processing concept plays a vital role in medical field. This research work is also
used to classify the brain signals using various image processing approaches. Based upon the classification easily
differentiate normal and abnormal brain signals. If the signals are in abnormal stage the persons are affected by various brain
related disease like brain tumor, brain disorder etc. The abnormal signals are also used to identify the stress level of the
peoples. In this research work finally calculate the accuracy level of various classification methods.
