Abstract
Infertility and spontaneous abortion are two aspects of reproductive insufficiency that have cross etiopathogenetic factors and which are aimed at the efforts of modern programs carried out using assisted reproductive technologies. About 1-2% of women experience three or more consecutive miscarriages called periodic miscarriages. To date, many clinical factors have been attributed to their potential risk factors, however, despite the extensive research, reviews and many established causes associated with spontaneous abortion, about 50% of the cases experienced by physicians are unknown, which significantly complicates an already difficult path to success even with assisted reproductive technologies. Based on the study, it can be argued that a single spontaneous abortion in the anamnesis does not have an obvious effect on the success of embryo formation, but has a negative impact on the success rate of clinical pregnancies, the frequency of early spontaneous abortions and the frequency of live births in the first IVF / ICSI cycle; with the increase in the number of spontaneous abortions, the risks of miscarriage are growing. The frequency of pregnancy with the use of IVF / ICSI technology has significantly increased compared to the previous century, but the level of spontaneous abortions has not decreased, which makes this problem central to the prospect of further improvement of algorithms using ART and necessitates the systematization of available scientific information on this issue.

Key words: in vitro fertilization, intracytoplasmic sperm injection, assisted reproductive technology, spontaneous abortion, infertility.
