PARENTING-BASED GUIDANCE PATTERN IN DEVELOPING CHILDREN'S SELF-POTENTIAL IN THE TECHNOLOGICAL ERA

Abstract
This study aims to determine parenting-based guidance patterns in developing children's self-potential in the technological era. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. The researcher matches the empirical reality with the theory suitable with the phenomenon in depth, detail, and complete. This research emphasizes on the quality of parenting or parental guidance patterns with the level of success of their children in living their future lives. The study involves three families who succeed in providing parenting to their children. To collect the data, the researcher carries out human instruments observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection tools. The data obtained are combined and simultaneously become the source and data triangulation. This study finds a new parenting pattern that is named the equilateral triangle pattern. This pattern combines the application of various parenting with internal-external supporting factors and several principles such as supervision, leadership, harmony and balance, partnership, charismatic, transaction, consultative, friendship, religious, nationalism, and independence. The results of this study are expected can become a reference for related and future research.
