EFFECT OF MPPT DURING SOLAR ISLANDING IN A MICROGRID

Abstract
This paper deals with the use of Photovoltaic Array cell in Simulink and get the DC output voltage. Firstly the PV Array cell is analyzed using the Simulink software. In order to have the output voltage to be step up we used a boost converter and made the Voltage to increase. To convert the above DC voltage we used MOSFET based INVERTER which is operated in 180 mode of conduction. So that the AC Output Voltage can be fed to our house hold appliances or some RL Load. To maximize power extraction under all conditions we use the Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique which are used in all the wind turbines and photovoltaic (PV) solar systems. At any time during its operation the main function of MPPT is to maximize the energy available from the connected solar module arrays. The main aim of this paper is to track the maximum power point of the PV module so that we can extract the maximum possible power from the photovoltaic.
