DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF SAFE AND SECURE FLOW OF TRAFFIC AT SIGNAL

Abstract
To develop a sensible cross walk at traffic signals which help to regulate the traffic very effectively. The proposed
system is consisting of automatic barrier gate and pedestrian gate a long side traffic signals. The system makes use of
High power LED‗s as traffic lights. The traffic light timing changes automatically and delay is given the assistance of
microcontroller. To conclude, this technique is extremely effective in avoiding all types of accidents associated
with pedestrian which imbibe the general public to follow the traffic rules. The system is controlled by using
microcontroller. The system makes a use of traffic signals, servomotors motor along side barrier gates and
pedestrian‘s side gate which are interfaced to Microcontroller. The barriers come up when the orange light switches to
red light which can stop the vehicles from crossing. The barriers go down when the red light turns to green light
allowing the vehicles to maneuver forward with the assistance of servo motor. an equivalent thing are often done to
stop the pedestrians from crossing the road. When the signal is red then the microcontroller gets close the barrier
gates and when the signal is green the microcontroller gets open the barrier gates through servo motor automatically.
The Microcontrollers is loaded with an intelligent programming written using embedded ‗C‘ language.
