FACING THE DEADLY PANDEMIC – COVID 19

Abstract
An outbreak of Pneumonia of unknown origin was reported by Chinese Health Authorities in December 2019.It’s main epicenter was Wuhan, Hubei Province. COVID 19 is a respiratory illness which is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus – 2 (SARS - CoV-2) which is a novel coronavirus.
COVID 19 disease develop into a worldwide pandemic seems to create a significant public health risk. On 28 February 2020, the World Health Organization declared the threat to the coronavirus epidemic to the "tremendously high" level. Since the situation is rapidly changing, the consequences of the outbreak triggered by the new coronavirus undoubtedly have yet to appear.
On March 11, the number of COVID 19 cases outside China increase 13 times, in 114 countries there were more than 118,000 cases and more than 4,000 deaths. So the World Health Organization declared the COVID-19 a pandemic.
Since December, this Novel Coronavirus spread all over world, resulting thousands of deaths. Because of this, there is massive impact on our global health system and global economy.
Till today i.e. 14th April 2020 in world –
Confirmed cases in all – 1,917,320
Deaths – 119,483
In India the first case of Covid 19 was reported on 30th January 2020.
Till today i.e. 14th April 2020 in India, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MH & FW) have acknowledged-
Confirmed cases in All – 10,815
Recovered cases -857
Deaths -353
In India contamination rate of COVID 19 is declared to be 1.7 which is considerably lesser than in the nastiest affected countries.
There is total lockdown in the country. COVID 19 is a communicable disease that is caused by coronavirus. Infection with coronavirus can cause severe illness and life- threatening complications.
Symptoms of COVID 19 are related to those of the common flu.Therefore scientists are keenly studying the condition to better recognize its range of symptoms and how it is spread.
This article reviews current knowledge about COVID19 pandemic, epidemiology, the structures and functions of coronavirus spike proteins, transmission, prevention, clinical manifestation, diagnosis, and treatment.
