PARAMETRIC OPTIMIZATION ON WEDM OF ALUMINIUM- BAGASSE ASH- GRAPHITE HYBRID COMPOSITES BY TAGUCHI APPROACH

Abstract
In this research, squeeze casting method was adopted to fabricate hybrid aluminium composite. Varying percentage of bagasse ash (4, 8 and 12 wt.% ) and constant wt.% of graphite (2 wt.%) was used as reinforcement to improve mechanical strength of Al 7075 alloy. Taguchi method was utilized to design experimental plan for WEDM process with pulse on time and pulse off time as the input parameter and surface roughness as output response. ANOVA results depicts that all the input parameter have significant over output response. Optimal parameter was attained for better surface finish. Pulse off time has maximum contribution in governing output response.
