INVESTIGATION ON WELDING STRENGTH OF FSW SAMPLES USING TAGUCHI OPTIMIZATION TECHNIQUE

Abstract
Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is the most effective metal joining process of both similar and dissimilar metal without the introduction of the filler material. It recommends better mechanical and metallurgical characteristics., Aluminium 6063 and Aluminium 7075 are used as a base material in this research investigation. The better welding strength is identified by analysing FSW samples using input parameters such as Tool speed (rpm), Feed rate (mm/min) and Welding speed (mm/min). In this research work, the ranking process has been identified by Taguchi L9 orthogonal array and the unique contribution is identified by using statistical analysis of variance. The optimum tensile strength is considered as a better joining strength of FSW samples.
