RETINAL VESSEL SEGMENTATION USING MORPHOLOGICAL ANALYSIS FROM FUNDUS IMAGES

Abstract
This paper presents an approach to vessel detections in retinal images using recurrent morphological coding
with Gabor transformation. In the extraction of vessel region in retinal image, the problem of misclassification arises due to
false detection of image regions as retinal vessel, which gives a semantic representation as with vessel region.
The traditional approach to identification of blood vessels focused on morphological examination of components was used fo
r its lower complexity and identification capabilities.However, this approach does not overcome the fundamental issues of
scaling and orientation variations. To overcome these issues a recurrent model for vessel detection is suggested. The
experimental results derived, illustrates the enhancements of the proposed approach over the conventional morphological
component analysis.
