CLINICAL EVALUATION OF MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING AND BRAIN ATROPHY SCALE IN PATIENTS WITH ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE

Abstract
The problem of Alzheimer's type dementia has become the object of close attention of both health services
and representatives of various fields of medicine and neuroscience in the last decade abroad. This is due
both to the increased medical and social significance of the problem in an “aging” society, and to the
significant expansion of the technical capabilities of the in vivo study of the structures and functions of the
brain of patients. The introduction of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) into clinical practice has made a
great contribution to improving the methods for diagnosing organic brain lesions. In recent years, attempts
have been made to isolate tomographic parameters that would more reliably differentiate the signs of
physiological aging of the brain and primary atrophy of the brain tissue, accompanied by the development
of dementia
