Abstract
Intramedullary spinal cord tumors are a heterogeneous group of tumors with different histological nature;
different growth patterns (delimited, infiltrative) and united by one fundamental sign - the initial growth inside
the spinal cord parenchyma. In the early stage of the disease, the scarcity of clinical symptoms, as a rule, does
not allow revealing a spinal cord tumor and its level of localization, which is why many patients are treated for a
long time with degenerative-dystrophic disease of the spine, spinal arachnoiditis, multiple sclerosis and
sometimes they receive surgery with a pronounced neurological deficit, which greatly complicates the prognosis
of the disease. Thus, at present, the results of surgical treatment of intramedullary tumors are still unsatisfactory,
and rehabilitation approaches are far from perfect, which determines the need to study this problem aimed at
improving treatment outcomes.

Key words: intramedullary, tumor, surgery, infiltrative
