INFLUENCE OF PRESATURATED SUGARCANE BAGASSE ASH PELLETS IN CONCRETE

Abstract
This paper summarizes the experimental investigation on mechanical behavior of concrete in which Sugarcane bagasse ash (SCBA) pellets is used as a partial replacement of fine aggregate. As river sand is a scanty material now a day, there is an urgent need to look into alternate material. Now a day’s artificial aggregate are popular as a substitution of fine aggregate to make better concrete. Sugarcane bagasse ash (SCBA) aggregate pellets derived from waste sugarcane bagasse which is available plentifully. The concrete made by partially replacing M-sand with presaturated SCBA aggregate for self curing purpose is investigated. At that, maximum of 20% (by volume) was replaced. Workability and mechanical properties are analyzed. Test results indicate the concrete mix with 15% replacement by volume of SCBA aggregate exhibited better results in case of self curing condition, when compared to other mixes.
