THE ENHANCEMENT OF CENTRIFUGAL PUMP PRESSURE ON A FIREFIGHTER MOTORCYCLE IS BASED ON THE DIFFERENCES OF ROLLER MASS ON THE CVT COMPONENTS

Abstract
This study aims to improve the performance of centrifugal pumps mounted on CVT (continuous variable
transmision) scootermatic for firefighting motorcycles. By using the experimental method, the centrifugal pump that
has been installed in engine bracket, it is given a load according to the pump specifications then paired with a hose
and jet spray nozzle. Pitto gauge is placed at the end of the nozzle, all of the differences of water pressure that
comes out at the nozzle is recorded based on changes in rotation on the CVT and based on each type of roller used.
In this study, the rollers used were flying rollers and sliding rollers, each weighing 12 grams, 10 grams, 8 grams.
The results of this study, slidding roller weighing 12 grams and at 2000 rpm rotation can produce water pressure at
the tip of the nozzle of a centrifugal pump of 3 bars. This is higher than the use of other rollers.
