IMPACT OF AUGMENTED REALITY ASSISTED LANGUAGE LEARNING ON STUDENTS ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS AT TERTIARY LEVEL IN SULTANATE OF OMAN

Abstract
The purpose of this research article is to compare the academic performance of the students with and without
Augmented Reality(AR) aid. Traditionally, during the course of study, the students might be failing due to the
many aspects and might possibly attain fewer grades in their studies. Hopefully, research will give a positive
impact on their academic performance. Technologies have become an essential part of our day-to-day life. The
people are said to be outdated if they are not using technology for their daily activities. The authors of this paper
have predicted that augmented reality will be the basic need for tomorrow's education. This tangible augmented
reality approach opens a room for an assisted language learning experience. This research and implementation
result shows that augmented reality is especially suitable for language learning students compared to traditional
learning methods. The result of the proposed research supports its assumption and it is evident that augmented
reality assisted language learning has a greater impact on academic achievements at the tertiary level in the
Sultanate of Oman.
