FACE RECOGNITION SYSTEM FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED PEOPLE

Abstract
In our proposed method, a real time System Recognition Face (FRS) introduced for low vision people and aiding the blind. The
work process includes face detection and face recognition to identify the person who is standing in front of them. First, the
captured image is captured is taken by a camera Pi - 8 Mega Pixel. Oriented Gradient Histogram (HoG) features extracted with
database which already has the extracted HoG feature. For a face image 4680 HoG features are extracted. If the input image is
matched, it pronounces the person name to the blind person by audio signal through text to voice converter. Suppose the image is
not matched, it asks whether to store it in the database. In our proposed method, Balabolka software is used for text to voice
conversion. The work is implemented using Raspberry pi 3 processor and MATLAB 2017b. The experiment is implemented for
100 faces with 10 different positions.
